Adventist World Radio Day Marked by Community Outreach in Beira, Mozambique
Beira, Mozambique — In celebration of Adventist World Radio (AWR) Day on March 14, the Adventist World Radio was highlighted through a dynamic community outreach led by Radio Novo Tempo Beira.
A team of more than 10 staff members left the studio to bring “radio beyond the walls” by engaging directly with churches and local communities. The outreach included a visit to the Adventist church in Vila Massane, followed by a public program at Praça dos Professores in Chipangara, where the team interacted closely with residents.
The initiative focused on sharing the mission of the church, strengthening community connections, and communicating hope in Christ through both word and action. During the outreach, the team conducted live-style community radio programming, presenting messages centered on faith, hope, and practical Christian living.
As part of the humanitarian component of the event, the team distributed school materials to children in need and provided food assistance to vulnerable individuals, reflecting the church’s commitment to holistic ministry.
The program was further enriched by the participation of several local musical groups from the city of Beira, who performed Christian music regularly featured on the station. The music created a warm and engaging atmosphere, drawing community members and uplifting hearts.
The outreach was led by César de Souza, who emphasized the importance of connecting media ministry with real-life community impact.
“This initiative shows that radio is not only about broadcasting from a studio, but about meeting people where they are, sharing hope, and making a tangible difference in their lives,” Souza noted.
The event reflects the broader mission of Adventist World Radio to reach people through innovative and contextualized approaches, demonstrating that media ministry can serve as a powerful bridge between the church and the community.
